Chow vs. Shoe Money aka The "Battle" of the Rich Assholes!

Well any of you that read either JohnChow.com or ShoeMoney.com know that for the last few weeks, they've been having a "competition" to see which one of them could get the most subscribers to their blog in a certain amount of time. Hmm, well for those of you who are NOT familiar with these sites, both of these guys are rich, SUPER rich, so rich they could live comfortably for the rest of their lives if they stopped making money today. So basically this "Fun," "HaHa," "Teehee" competition their having, is basically just to see which one of them could get even richer....well actually both of them did. They both added a few thousand MORE subscribers to their blog, so I really don't see a loser here, although technically Shoemoney won their "competition." They bated people in by promising random prizes being given away to subscribers n such, yay. They get a few more million, while the piss poor folk get a prize if we're one of the LUCKY chosen. The above cartoon gives a pretty accurate depiction of all this, except they should have big giant bags of money to go with their bags of subscribers. Oh and they also brought up how a LOT of people didn't know about RSS, and their competition EDUCATED people about subscribing to blogs.....::cough:: BULLSHIT ::cough::.

Ya know, a cooler idea, would've been to share the wealth a little or give someone new a rub. Maybe they could've taken even a mid level blog, a blog that's showing promise and hard work but not a ton of success yet, and had this sort of competition with THEM. An Apollo Creed vs. Rocky Balboa story of sorts. Of course the bigger site would win the "competition"...but the up and coming site could've gained some recognition and subscribers, and maybe be elevated to the next level. They could've made headlines by running the competition every month, I can see it now: "Rich Asshole gives underdog a shot to make it to their level in online business." HAH, yeah right. 2 guys who are on the same level, just want to keep raking in more dollars for themselves, while trying to convince people they were teaching them something or offering them something great, we don't buy it! SO, basically if you ever want to get to the Rich Asshole level, you have to Do It Fucking Now and get you're own shit done, and work long ass hours to maybe contend with these guys one day, or at least make it to a comfortable level, without getting greedy and hitting total rich asshole level. And if we ever hit it big in the online business world, we'll be here letting our readers know the information they need to make it...."Here is what you need to do" "Here is the attitude you need to have" "Here are some tips on getting there"....not just "HAHA you sorry asses, bow to us, subscribe to our shit, and make us richer, and when you do, we'll ALLOW you to keep on reading our oh so glorious blogs! Screw that shit. Give the rich assholes a taste of the DIFNAttitude!
